This is a therapeutic support group for women survivors of trauma and traumatic loss. This group will alternate between narrative approaches (journaling, witnessing, re-authoring), psychoeducational material from Janina Fisher’s Transforming the Living Legacy of Trauma, and skill building for increased ease in the world. The group is ongoing and offered in five week “commitments.”
When: Tuesdays 5:15p-6:45p
Where: In-person at the Heart Stone Counseling Carriage House Group Room, 967 Broadway South Portland, ME.
Why: Communities have healing power. Changing your relationship to the trauma changes your story and this can change your physiology. Being witnessed and being a witness reduces shame, isolation and increases hope and compassion— essential healing ingredients.

In addition to her clinical training, Emily draws from her experience and education as a Transformative Language Artist and five years as an actor with Portland Playback Theatre to create safe, dynamic spaces for healing and growth.
