Hello! I’m Margo.
Over the course of my career—first as an elementary school teacher, then a yoga instructor, and now a mental health counselor—I have come to appreciate the universality of the challenges we all face, whether they be loss, worry, transition or trauma.
I have found that I’m especially drawn to working with emerging and young adults as they navigate the world for the first time. Life transitions can feel disorienting, exciting and chaotic, but they are also a rich time to define and clarify values, and to establish supportive habits and goals. I can provide a steady anchor for my clients as they traverse this uncharted territory. This same philosophy can also help those experiencing loss or trauma.
My person-centered, trauma-informed approach always emphasizes individual strengths and resources. We may use body-centered and expressive arts techniques in addition to dialogue, depending on the needs we identify in our goal-setting work. To help foster mind-body connection and emotional regulation, sessions may also incorporate elements of Gestalt therapy, mindfulness, somatic experiencing, and/or sensorimotor psychotherapy.
As a long-time Restorative Yoga practitioner and teacher trainer, I have a deep appreciation for the physiological implications of maintaining a practice of rest and ease—which Restorative Yoga emphasizes—benefiting the body, heart, and mind. I bring this understanding of the nervous system to my work with clients so they may appreciate the rejuvenating aspects of rest in our busy lives.
My hope is to create a collaborative, safe space where individuals can connect to their bodies and discover what feels real and true from moment to moment. I am committed to empowering individuals through compassionate and integrative approaches to mental health, combining my knowledge and experience to guide and support clients on their journey toward self-awareness and self-discovery.
Outside of work, I am an avid reader and enjoy tending to my rooftop container garden. I love spending time on the beach and engaging in various forms of movement.
