“How we spend our days, is of course, how we spend our lives” -Annie Dillard

Hi, I’m Sarah.

As a therapist, I aim to help others to understand themselves more deeply, to learn how to cultivate more joy and purpose so they may feel more present in their daily lives. My practice of therapy is strength-based, humanistic, and trauma-informed. I hold a deep respect for the client/therapist relationship and use deep listening, curiosity and unconditional positive regard as my guideposts. I believe therapy is a partnership built on empathy, openness, and a commitment to non-judgment.

I primarily work with adults and my therapeutic style centers on creating a safe and trusting space where my clients can feel most comfortable with who they are as a person. I appreciate using modalities such as narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, ACT and DBT to work through past traumas, and to identify and address mental health challenges. This process supports clients in pursuing their goals, whether those are to overcome life’s challenges and daily stressors or to pursue long-term dreams.

I grew up in Massachusetts and moved to Maine 12 years ago. My husband and I have 2 sons and a dog named Charlie. In my own life, I appreciate finding joy in simple moments, whether it’s painting watercolors, cooking, spending time in nature or connecting with friends and family. I’m also endlessly inspired by reading poetry; I find that it reminds me of what is most meaningful about this beautiful world we live in. I believe there is so much beauty available to us, especially in this gorgeous state of Maine, just waiting for us to turn our gaze toward it.

As a therapist, my hope is to ultimately support my clients in creating lives that feel truly meaningful. I’m honored to be invited into my clients’ lives, to hear their unique stories, to work together and to witness their growth in learning new ways to navigate life with greater resilience and self-awareness.

I look forward to meeting you!
